Jacquie Saavedra

Hi, I am Jacquie Saavedra and I’m a sophomore. I transferred from Pima Community College and I am majoring in Special Education. I love to work with children and I always receive a great satisfaction from helping others. I am the community service coordinator of the Transfer Student Association. I enjoy being involved in out-of-school activities and like to be resourceful in any opportunity I have.

I grew up in Mexico mainly in the state of Jalisco. My mother had a school back then and I always helped her with her classes in the afternoon teaching little children English and arts & crafts. I also helped with Brain Gym, which is a way of activating the brain by using several exercises to enhance the eye-hand coordination and cognitive fluency. I enjoyed the classes, as I love spending time with kids.

My hobbies include listening to music and playing the piano. I like watching movies and reading a good book. I also enjoy going to the park and walking my dog. I have volunteered at several organizations such as Community Food bank, Giving Tree and Make a Difference Day. I like to spend time with my family and friends and always like to meet new people.

As a Transfer Outreach Facilitator I am responsible for the Colleges of Education, Architecture, and UA South. I look forward to meeting all of you and wish the best of luck to new transfer students!
