Imo Akpan
My name is Imoette Akpan and I am the Transfer Outreach Facilitator for students in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. I'm currently applying to the Eller College of Management this semester and I plan on majoring in Management Information Systems and Operations Management. My interest in technology and its uses in companies and organizations were a big influence in why I chose MIS.
My career goals after graduation involve getting into database systems and software development, possibly through project management. I also plan on pursing my MBA and J.D., focusing on Intellectual Property. I'm very interested in these fields and could offer me an opportunity to travel across the country or even internationally.
I transferred from Pima Community College in Spring 2011. I have done a lot of volunteering through Pima CC and my church, including volunteering for Research Corporation for Science Advancement during Fall 2010 for their annual Scialog Conference. I hope to be able to be a great resource this semester for students who need to connect with College of Agriculture & Life Sciences and help them on their paths to success.
