Darleen Frost
My name is Darleen and I am from Pima, AZ. After obtaining an Associate’s degree in Business Administration at Eastern Arizona College, I transferred to the University of Arizona last year. I am now working on obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, followed by graduate school in Physical Therapy. I am also a preceptor for General Chemistry this year, which is one way I became involved on campus. Another way was by joining Tau Sigma National Honor Society, an honor society for transfer students, in which I serve as the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
I have spent numerous hours volunteering at various locations. For example, I spent 60 hours at a physical therapy center this past summer to determine if that was the career path I wanted to choose. I’ve also volunteered at the Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center, the Pima County Community Library, and the Regional Family Home Storage Center. Service is very important to me, which is a reason I want to help other students transfer easily to the university.
I love to play the piano, travel, and ride motorcycles. I graduated with 36 people in my high school class, so transferring to a very large university was somewhat intimidating. As I have now spent a year at the University of Arizona, I would like to help others who have similar struggles as I did in learning the ways of the University.
